ok yesterday when i woke up i felt a cold sore and it started to swell and today its really starting to kick in, but i put on some blistex. this doesnt feel like its working, so im wondering whats a faster remedy, because its friday and im going to my buddies house for the 3rd. PLEASE HELP!!

Old remedy………..alcohol or after shave, douse it with it ! It will sting like hell but it will dry out quick time, then cover it with masking make up. I nicked my wife’s make up for this ! Nobody noticed

Once you’re a few days into a cold eruption, its not impossible but unlikely you can do much to hasten its healing. Since you have nothing to loose, apply a used tea bag (preferably black tea), room temperature, against the sore several times a day. It contains tanic acid, which can help. Another option is to use the remedy I use to prevent having the cold sore erupt to begin with (I apply at the early tingle symptom) is Cold Sores Begone (coldsoresbegone.com). Years ago, I used to wake up with a cold sore at least once a year. Just because I know that can happen, I apply Cold Sores Begone to lips before going to bed every single night. It seems to do the trick because I haven’t awakened with a cold sore in over 10 years.
